On January 11, 2018, the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security held the first working group for fire protection facility operators and firefighters in line with the National Vocational Skill Standard.

Fire protection facility operators refer to personnel engaged in fire fighting and fire safety management of buildings and structures, fire fighting safety inspection and maintenance of fire fighting equipment in buildings.

In September 2017, with the consent of the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security published the Catalogue of National Vocational Qualifications, which included this occupation in the scope of occupational qualifications for access and level evaluation. Fire protection facilities operators belong to the professional qualification of skilled personnel.

1. The national professional qualification certificate of fire-fighting personnel is the qualification certificate of the professional skill level of fire-fighting personnel, the recognition of the professional knowledge, technology and ability necessary for the employees to engage in the fire-fighting profession, and serves as the main basis for the employees to apply for jobs and hold positions in this field.

2. According to the requirements of the Fire Control Law and other laws and regulations, the operators on duty in the fire control room must pass additional special training and professional skills evaluation, and obtain the professional qualification of fire equipment operator before taking up the post.
